Step 1. Upgrade PSP Firmware to 5.03
a. Download Firmware 5.03 file.
b. Connect your PSP to computer in USB mode.
c. Double-click the exe file you have downloaded. It is going to copy the firmware data EBOOT.PBP to your PSP 3000.
d. Go to GAME -> Memory stick -> Firmware 5.03, and Press X, which will begin to upgrade PSP firmware to original 5.03.
Step 2. Install ChickHEN R2
a. Download ChickHEN R2, and extract to PSP 3000 folder on desktop.
b. Double-click on EZ503HenSLIMversion.exe to open up a window.

c. Connect your PSP and click Install to copy necessary files to your PSP.
d. Press O to disconnect from USB mode and go to PHOTO->Memory stick->ChickHEN -> Press X -> PSP will boot in ChickHEN R2 mode, you can verify this by going to System-> System Information, which will show ChickHEN 5.03 now.
Step 3. Install 5.03GEN-a Custom Firmwarea. You can go forward and install 5.03GEN-a, which will allow you to run ISO/CSO image backups of your PSP games on PSP 3000.
b. Download PSP 5.03 Custom firmware.
c. Extract the files to PSP 3000 folder on desktop.
d. Double click on Launch-Me.exe, Enter the letter of your PSP memory card, In mine it was E, click START.
